New York City Neal B Style!
Here’s a recap of this week for you!- New Opportunities and New Events! I officially become part of the ArtofTalk.tv family! I am on board with them as a web-video entertainment & events correspondent. So tune in to see all the fantastic content on their page (and of course Elisa’s amazing editing skills put to work!). Press release here
- Monday’s “Miscast”. The week started off with going to Miscast 2010 is a musical presentation of Broadway stars singing songs from roles for which they would never be cast (for example, last year Alice Ripley belted Sweeney Todd’s “My Friend”). Cast included: Mo Rocca (The Daily Show, Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! on NPR) and will feature songs by Raúl Esparza (Company), Sutton Foster (Thoroughly Modern Mille, The Drowsy Chaperone), Montego Glover (Memphis), Ana Gasteyer (SNL alumna, The Royal Family, Wicked), Marin Mazzie (Kiss Me, Kate, Ragtime, Passion), David Miller (Il Divo), Aaron Tveit (Next to Normal, Wicked), and Tom Wopat (Catch Me If You Can, Tarzan). Here’s the article Here are a few pictures from the event
- My Faceoff with Facebook. The “F” word began my faceoff with Facebook. My account was banned (hopefully temporarily). So much for freedom of speech! I should have learned by now! Click here for the full story
- Tremendous Temperamentals. Elisa and I covered the opening of the play The Temperamentals (featuring Michael Urie “Ugly Betty”) at New World Stages. Click here to see the videos and pictures
- “Law” in Jersey. Thanks to On Locations Vacations, we got the tip that “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” would be willing in Fort Lee, New Jersey (right over the bridge). Law and Order: SVU is a favorite show of ours and having already saw the production team in action in NYC, we decided to pay a visit to the set. Surprisingly. we were the only outlet there. Maybe it was because it was cold? My hunch was because it was Jersey! No one wanted to cross the bridge! For the video and pictures click here
- Nude and Nature. Elisa and I went to the village for a brand new art installation, which is getting huge buzz! Brian Reed’s “Through the Heart of It All” combines artistic nudity, spirituality and nature for a beautifully done masterpiece. For more information go to: For pictures and video, please click here
-
“Hair” today, gone tomorrow. The Broadway revival cast of Hair is going to London (don’t worry- amazing replacements are coming in!) so Elisa and I were there to say farewell to some of the most amazing performers on Broadway! THANKS ELISA FOR THE TICKETS!! Sitting with the stars and fans, the show was purely raw, filled with intense emotion. Click here to see some pictures/videos from the stage
- Oscar Coverage done New York City Style! Interviews, celebrity Oscar recipes and more below! After a day full of heightened “Hair” emotions, Elisa and I continued to the official Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences 82nd Annual Academy Awards party at the Palace hotel in New York City! We were able to snag some star-studded interviews with Oscar nominee Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace, The Twilight Saga), Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black (Milk, Big Love), Tina Louise (Ginger” on Gilligan’s Island, The Stepford Wives with Nicole Kidman) and Celeste Holm, 92 year old Oscar winner (Gentleman’s Agreement, All About Eve).
